Privacy Policy

1. Information We Handle

Soul Compass does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or profile information in order to use the app.

Depending on the features you choose to use, Soul Compass may process a limited amount of information.

This may include:

• messages you voluntarily submit to AI features;
• a randomly generated installation identifier when notifications are enabled;
• a push-notification device token;
• your time zone for notification scheduling;
• limited technical information required to deliver notifications correctly; and
• information you voluntarily provide if you contact us or send a report.

Soul Compass does not maintain a persistent server-side history of your AI conversations.

2. AI Features

Soul Compass includes optional AI-powered features that can generate reflections, prayers, guidance, and other responses.

Before an AI message is transmitted, Soul Compass asks for your permission to send messages to an external AI service provider.

If you give permission, the text you choose to submit is transmitted through our service to an external AI service provider so that your requested response can be generated.

The resulting response is returned to Soul Compass and displayed to you.

Soul Compass does not automatically maintain a saved history of these conversations on our servers.

We recommend that you avoid including sensitive personal information in AI messages unless it is necessary for your request.

3. External AI Processing

When you choose to use an AI feature, the content you submit and the generated response may be processed by an external AI service provider.

This processing is necessary to provide the AI functionality you have requested.

External service providers may temporarily retain information in accordance with their own security, safety, legal, and operational requirements.

Soul Compass does not use AI message content for advertising, marketing, behavioral profiling, or cross-app tracking.

4. Notifications

Notifications are optional.

If you choose to enable notifications, Soul Compass registers your device so that notifications can be delivered.

For this purpose, we may store:

• a randomly generated installation identifier;
• your device's push-notification token;
• your time zone;
• limited technical information required for notification delivery; and
• limited delivery information, such as the most recent successful notification date.

This information is used only to register, schedule, manage, and deliver Soul Compass notifications.

It is not used for advertising, tracking, or creating a profile about you.

When notification registration is successfully disabled or becomes invalid, the corresponding registration may be removed from our active systems.

Certain deleted technical records may remain temporarily in backups or system logs before being automatically removed as part of normal infrastructure retention processes.

5. Information Stored on Your Device

Soul Compass stores certain preferences locally on your device so that the app can remember your choices.

These may include:

• your AI messaging preference;
• your notification preference;
• onboarding status;
• Bible reading position;
• reading-related preferences; and
• other basic app settings.

These preferences are stored locally on your device and are not used for advertising or tracking.

6. Reports and Contact

If you voluntarily contact us or submit a report through Soul Compass, we may receive the information you choose to provide.

Depending on how you contact us, this may include your email address, the content you submit, the content you are reporting, and limited app information useful for understanding the report.

Communications sent to us may be retained for the time reasonably necessary to respond to the request, investigate a report, protect the service, or meet legal obligations.

7. How We Use Information

Information handled by Soul Compass is used only when necessary to provide, operate, secure, and support the app.

This includes:

• generating AI responses you request;
• delivering optional notifications;
• remembering your app preferences;
• responding to reports or privacy requests;
• maintaining service reliability; and
• protecting the app from abuse or technical problems.

8. Advertising, Analytics and Tracking

Soul Compass does not contain third-party advertising SDKs.

Soul Compass does not use third-party behavioral analytics SDKs.

Soul Compass does not use your AI messages to advertise to you.

Soul Compass does not sell your personal information.

Soul Compass does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

9. Sharing With Service Providers

Soul Compass relies on external service providers where necessary to operate certain features.

For example, external services may be used to:

• process AI requests;
• operate secure server infrastructure;
• deliver push notifications;
• provide app distribution and purchase functionality; and
• deliver content requested by the app.

Information is shared only when necessary for these services to perform the functionality you requested or to operate Soul Compass.

We do not sell information to these providers for advertising purposes.

10. Your Choices

AI messaging is optional.

If you choose Not Now when asked for AI permission, your message will not be sent to the external AI service provider and AI messaging will remain disabled.

You can change this choice later from Soul Compass Settings.

Notifications are also optional and can be disabled through Soul Compass or your device's notification settings.

Bible reading and other functionality that does not require AI messaging can remain available if you decline AI processing.

11. Data Retention

Soul Compass does not maintain a persistent server-side AI conversation history.

Notification registration information may remain stored while notifications are enabled and may continue to exist until the registration is successfully removed or determined to be invalid.

Limited technical information may temporarily remain in system logs or backups according to normal infrastructure retention practices.

External service providers may maintain their own limited retention periods for information processed by their services.

Messages or reports you voluntarily send to us may be retained when reasonably necessary to handle the communication, investigate the issue, maintain security, or satisfy legal obligations.

12. Data Deletion and Privacy Requests

Soul Compass does not require a user account and does not maintain a server-side archive of your AI conversations.

If you would like to ask whether information associated with your use of Soul Compass remains in our systems, or request deletion of information that we are able to identify, you may contact us using the email address below.

We may need limited information from you in order to locate the relevant technical record and verify the request.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information while it is transmitted, processed, and stored.

However, no internet transmission, storage system, or electronic service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14. Children's Privacy

Soul Compass does not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner prohibited by applicable law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

15. International Processing

Some of the service providers used to operate Soul Compass may process information in countries other than the country in which you live.

Where applicable, information is handled subject to appropriate privacy, security, and data-protection requirements.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Soul Compass's features, technology, service providers, or privacy practices change.

When the policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will be revised.
